What does this mean for YOUR business?

Think about your daily work. You collect a parent's phone number during admission. You store a student's test scores in a Google Sheet. You add families to a WhatsApp group. You keep a teacher's PAN card copy for salary. Each of these is someone's personal information. The new law says you must protect all of it. You must tell people why you are collecting it. You cannot share it without permission. If data is leaked, you are responsible.

• Fee receipts and payment records are personal financial information under the law.
• WhatsApp groups with parents and students count as data you are responsible for.
